Today I'm thankful for my husband, who is usually able to calm me down when I get upset and is quick to offer solutions (which I usually appreciate). Today's problem: My frustration at having to work all week and then do housework for much of my day off. John's solution: Look into hiring a cleaning service. I never, ever thought I'd have a cleaning service...but it's sounding pretty darn good right now!

Day 63
Today I'm thankful for an easy day at work. We had 3 hour long meetings and an hour for lunch, and I left 2 hours early for a lab draw...so I really only had 2 hours of time for appointments. But, I only had one appointment scheduled and that student no showed, and nobody else walked in. Crazy! We shall see how the rest of the week goes...

Resolutions update #2
- Keep exercising. I ran 9 times for a total of 35.1 miles! I also did strength training with John 4 times and yoga once. I'm looking forward to getting back to yoga regularly. My instructor, Kris, remembered my name even though I hadn't been to class in a really long time!
- Eat more veggies. I haven't started tracking how many servings of veggies I eat per day but should probably start...
- Enjoy the moment. Trying!
- Make a baby. Not yet. I did have an appointment with my midwife about this and had a bunch of labs drawn. Everything was normal. I have to go back on Tuesday for another lab draw and then again at the start of my next period so we will see.
- Read for pleasure. This is going great! I think I only missed one or two days this month...woohoo! I'm reading a really long book (A Memory of Light) so I don't have any completed books to add to my list this month. I also joined a virtual book club with some friends from high school which should keep me motivated (not that I really need motivation)!
- Give thanks every day. I only missed a few days in February. Writing the posts really helps me to think about what was good about my day and to enjoy something, no matter how small, each day.
- Explore (more of) Chicago. We went to see John's cousin J's band play at a new venue, Schubas Tavern, at the beginning of the month. It was up near where I used to work so I had driven/rode the bus by many times but had never been inside. I also had dinner with friends at 90 Miles Cuban Cafe in Logan Square and went on a taco crawl with other friends so experienced a few more neighborhoods (Lakeview, Pilsen, and Humboldt Park).

Day 53
Today I'm thankful for my husband, who's great at making me laugh. A conversation this evening as we were getting ready to make the bed after I had done laundry:
John: What's holding you up now? (I had put something else away first.)
Me: Nothing.
John: Except your legs.
Just typing it now makes me laugh again. He sure is a special one!

Day 52
Today I'm thankful for a nice, easy Friday at work. It wasn't necessarily slow but there weren't any urgent matters or difficult patients which made for a good day. I'm also thankful for the sunshine after a very rainy Thursday!

Day 51
Today I have lots to be thankful for. First of all, I was able to take a day off of work for a couple of medical appointments, one for penicillin allergy testing and one to see my midwife regarding fertility. The penicillin allergy testing was really interesting for me...and gave me plenty of time to catch up on Twitter, Facebook, and email. I was there for just over 4 hours and thankfully, it does not seem as though I am allergic to penicillin!
My second appointment went very well too. My midwife recommended starting with labs so we started those today. I also saw a former student from my very first semester as a clinical instructor. She is now in the last semester of her midwifery program. It was so good to see her...and how far she has come!
Secondly, I'm really thankful for my husband. He met me for lunch and came along to the appointment with the midwife. He's really quite the guy!
Lastly, I'm thankful for my friend Jess. We went to a painting class tonight which was so much fun! Thanks, Jess!
