Day 142
Tonight I'm thankful for a great date night with my hubby. We went out to dinner at then saw Motown. Now it's time to get some rest before we're out of town for the next 11 days!
Days 139-141*
Oops...missed a few days here!
Day 139 - I was thankful for the time to get a manicure and pedicure...much needed!
Day 140 - I was thankful for a nice evening with John's parents. We had drinks outside at III Forks and then dinner at Mezcalina. It was a great evening in the Lakeshore East neighborhood!
Day 141 - I was thankful for absolutely beautiful weather and the opportunity to see the city from the 45th floor of a building just north of the river for another Chicago Scholars mentor orientation. I'm excited to start another year of mentoring with Chicago Scholars.

Day 138
I'm thankful for absolutely gorgeous weather today! We went to see the Brewers play the Cubs at Wrigley Field. And, while it was just a little chilly in the shade, it was almost hot in the sun. Finally a nice spring day!

Day 137
I'm thankful for my running buddy Natallie. We ran 7.73 miles today but it felt like much less. The weather was beautiful and we chatted the whole way. I'm so excited to train for the Chicago Marathon together!
Day 136*
I'm thankful for another relaxing evening and the opportunity to start Season 3 of Game of Thrones with my hubby. We used to watch TV series or movies together a lot but don't seem to find the time as much anymore. So glad we did!

Day 135
I'm thankful for no plans after work tonight. It was good to come home, eat supper, and then just relax. Now, I'm ready for a good night's sleep!

Day 134
I'm thankful to Universal Sole for hosting their monthly Pizza in the Park Fun Runs. I get motivation to run and free supper. What more could I ask for?!? It's so nice to have a running store in the neighborhood.

Day 133
I'm thankful for my coworkers. I work with some pretty awesome people. Now that classes are done and students are going home, we have more time to just chat and get to know each other better. I'm thankful for that too!

Day 132
Today I'm thankful for air conditioning. Yup, we turned our AC on for a few hours tonight. It was hot and sticky in our apartment when we got home. It's not going to last for long though...Wednesday's high is 52 degrees.

Day 131
Today, and every day really, I'm thankful for my mom. She's a strong, independent, loving woman. I don't think there's anything she can't do. The greatest compliment I've ever received is when someone has said "You're just like your mom."
Day 130*
I'm thankful for an absolutely beautiful day in Chicago! Natallie and I actually got hot on our run this morning and I was sweating while sitting out in the park this afternoon. I'm also super thankful that I could drop everything and spend a little time outside reading.

Resolutions update #4
- Keep exercising. I ran 10 times for a total of 42.89 miles. Woohoo! I also rocked the Crazylegs Classic. I did strength training with John once (again, sad!) and yoga 3 times (once on my own for just 7 minutes). Not too shabby!
- Eat more veggies. I still haven't started tracking how many servings of veggies I eat per day but I did download an app...I just haven't figured out how to use it yet!
- Enjoy the moment. Still trying!
- Make a baby. Still trying on this one too! All my labwork came back normal so now it's John's turn.
- Read for pleasure. Reading before going to sleep is definitely one of my favorite parts of the day! I finally finished A Memory of Light which I loved! Now I'm reading The Book Thief and am thoroughly enjoying it. Historical fiction is one of my favorite genres.
- Give thanks every day. I forgot to post on fewer days this month than last month. I always think of something throughout the day, whether I get to posting it or not. That was the whole point of this little exercise...yay!
- Explore (more of) Chicago. Hmm...what did we do that was new this month? I can't think of anything except that I went to dinner at a friend's house in Evanston. How sad! We really need to get out more!

Day 129
I'm thankful that today was the last day of classes for SAIC students. This means that things should slow down at work now and we can get some other projects done...like cleaning my desk and perfecting our EMR templates. Woohoo!

Day 128
I'm thankful for a fun evening with John. I signed us up for the Universal Sole 4 Mile Classic awhile ago, before we knew about the North Harbor Tower 5K. So, we ended up doing two races together in 6 days (plus I did another one). We ran the whole race together. John did well! We walked 4 or 5 times but ran a good pace while we were running. I won a 12 pack of 312 at the post-race party to top off a great night! (Oh, and it was a balmy 90 degrees at the start of the race. Crazy Chicago weather!)

Day 127
I'm thankful for my husband. I was able to take a couple hours off work to join him for a late-morning doctor's appointment and lunch today. It was fun to spend some time together mid-day. Plus, he started supper tonight so all I had to do was clean up!

Day 126
I'm so thankful to be a part of the Chicago Scholars organization. Tonight was the College Choice Celebration where every scholar walks across the stage and announces where they are going to college in the fall. It's a very cool event to witness!
I'm also a member of the Associate Board so I was invited to a pre-reception on the 57th floor of the building we were in. I met some amazing people. And the view was awesome!
To top it off, I took three of my scholars plus a scholar from another cohort to Starbucks to use up the rest of our cohort gift card. They're a fun group to hang out with. I wish them all the best and hope they'll keep in touch with me!

Day 125
I'm thankful for my two amazing Health Services coworkers! I made cookies for the entire Wellness Center to celebrate Nurses Day a day early because today is the only day this week that Elaine, our RN, works. I gave Elaine and Megan cards and little gifts as well. They were both so appreciative of everything!
Days 123-124*
Day 123 - I'm thankful for a sunny day and a fun inaugural North Harbor Tower 5K. It was so fun to do a race with John, even if he did beat me (because I ran his pace and walked with him and then he beat me to the finish).
Day 124 - I'm thankful for a great best runner friend! Natallie and I ran the Cinco de Miler race with exactly the same pace...amazing! She started us out a little faster than I would have normally gone...and I finished us a little faster than she wanted to go. We make a great pair!

Day 122
Today I'm thankful that John and Keith took care of supper. After work, I went up to Lincoln Park to pick up my race packet for the Cinco de Miler race on Sunday and didn't get home until almost 7. It was nice to be able to come home and not have to worry about cooking...and eat some delicious Lou Malnati's pizza! Thanks, hunny (and Keith)!

Day 121
Today I'm thankful for a fun night out with my hubby. We had dinner at Emerald Loop, tea at Argo, and then saw The Wizard of Oz. Great night!
